This artwork is full of contrasts. Not only the light and dark tints of red that color this blood red panther cast in sunlight and shadow, but the peaceful resting state of the animal in contrast to the eyes that look so desolate and the contrast of the powerful wild beast resting on a log cut by a manmade saw. This is one of the few disturbing pieces I ave done. I usually prefer to evoke peace and joy, but this piece is about a hopeless endangered species. I would hope for more than this in our world.
